Why is my balance increasing if I have not advanced additional funds?

Your balance can increase even when you haven’t made a new cash advance because each billing cycle includes a Billing Cycle Charge. This charge is based on your average daily cash advance balance for that cycle. If no payments are made during the billing cycle, this charge is added to your existing balance — which can make your total balance go up even without new activity.

What is the difference between an installment loan and a line of credit?

An installment loan gives you one lump sum that you repay over a set period of time. A line of credit gives you a set credit limit you can borrow from whenever you need it. There’s no set payoff date, and you can take cash advances as long as you stay within your limit and make your payments on time.
